What to weigh before enrolling
- It is an HMO. You generally need to use in-network providers and coordinate through a primary care physician. Confirm your doctors first.
- County footprint. Twenty-six counties is broad for a local plan but still leaves much of western and far southeastern Oklahoma out.
- Travel. A local HMO is not the right tool if you spend a large part of the year out of state.
- Star ratings change annually. CMS re-rates every plan each year. Use the current year rating, not last year's.
- Your drug list. Formularies are refiled annually. Check your specific prescriptions rather than assuming continuity.
